Latvian airline airBaltic has signed a cooperation agreement with the state-run Latvian Lottery allowing the airline to sell lottery tickets in flight. As of 15 October, airBaltic passengers will be able to buy Lasis instant lottery tickets in the new Fly series while in the air, and will have the chance to win a wide range of prizes including cash prizes, airBaltic tickets and the grand prize, a Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.

“The lottery is a very popular and highly-prized form of entertainment the world over. Responding to our passengers’ interest in interactive in-flight entertainment, airBaltic has launched a joint project with the Latvian Lottery. Having seen the experience of other countries, we hope that the in-flight lottery will soon get a good response from passengers and become popular,” airBaltic Marketing and E-Commerce manager Maris Rudens said.

Lottery tickets will be available for purchase on airBaltic flights and in other Latvian Lottery outlets from mid-October. Each ticket will cost 1 lat (1.42 euro). Lottery cash prizes will range from 1 to 20 lats and will be paid on the spot. Other prizes on offer include airBaltic tickets and the main prize, a Mitsubishi Pajero Sport provided by Skandi Auto.
