Small Guild
In the very centre of Old Town at the Livs Sguare lays the Small Guild (1866) the architecture and arts monument.
Construction design of the Small Guild, the architecture and arts monument was ordered in April 1861 to the Riga town’s architect J.D.Felsko, under whose guidance the construction was started on 1864. On 9th February 1866 the new building was solemnly consecrated. Small Guild is a suitable place for festive activities, business meetings, conferences, presentations, concerts and dancing-parties. www.gilde.lv/maza.
Entrance-hall
Both the entrance-hall and the staircase have teracco floor, witch was made in 1888 by Italian masters of the Johann Oderico Company in Frankfurt-on- Main. In the vault centre there hangs an eight- branched brass chandelier made in 1775.
The big hall
The to-day existing stained-glass panels of the Big hall have been placed into the windows in 1888 and are made at the Hanover atelier of A.S.Freestadtl. The hall is richly decorated with neo-gothic pilasters, wooden panels, painted ceiling, stained-glass windows and paintings.
The Senior room
The ceiling of the Senior room are painted with wax paints and gilded in 1888, on walls-Lincrustra tapestry made in 1888. |
