Varaklani Regional Museum was founded and works till now in the castle of Varaklani,that belonged the count Michael Borch ( 1783-1789 ).On 13. September, 1997 it was opened in honour of the days of European Cultural Heritage, when Varaklani castle was included in the register of 100 most endangered castles in Latvia. The student of local history Janis Pilpuks was the first director of the museum and one of enthusiasts to maintain and restore the building.
The museum was founded: on 30.January, 2001.
Accredited the second time: on 16.December,2009.
The number of the accredited certificate: 80 A.
From the 1.March ,2009 there is Tourism Information Centre ( TIC ) in the museum.
The mission of the museum: to popularize the cultural heritage of Region Varaklani and get acquainted with the role of count M.Borch and other famous people in history of the region.

We offer to visit the park of Varaklani castle with the romantic " Love Stone", listen to mysterious legends and stories about the "Alive Sword " of the graph, his beautiful daughter Jadviga and her unhappy love to poor servant " Big Boot ".
