[pic][raj.jpg]The Literature, Theatre and Music Museum is a wide profile museum of cultural history, which familiarises the viewer with Latvian liteature, theatre and music as well as particular genres of art. The mission of the museum is to collect, store, study and popularise the spiritual and material wealth of Latvian literary, theatrical and musical heritage from their beginnings to today, in all their diversity. The Exhibition 'Musical instruments in Latvia' is a tribute to Riga as a once noteworthy city of piano masters. There can be seen not only antique and restored board piano, upright pianos and organ, but also wind instruments and the strings. The visitors can even hear how the mechanical self-playing piano sounds. The exhibition has been made thanks to the several years activities of the Music department experts, researching the history of the music instrument building in Latvia.
